Massive Asset Discovery in Telangana Corruption Investigation

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana has unearthed assets valued at approximately Rs 9.41 crore, linked to V Narasimha Rao, the District Manager (Technical) of the Mahabubabad Civil Supplies Department. The discovery was made during an investigation into alleged corrupt activities.

In a detailed operation, the ACB conducted raids at seven locations connected to Rao, as well as his relatives and associates. These searches revealed a significant amount of valuable items, including gold and silver jewelry, alongside substantial property holdings. The properties discovered include agricultural lands, residential homes, commercial buildings, and a range of vehicles.

Legal Proceedings Underway

Rao, who previously served at the Khammam Collectorate, is under scrutiny for allegedly acquiring wealth beyond what his legitimate income could substantiate. Evidence pointing towards his involvement in corrupt practices during his tenure has prompted these investigations.

The ACB has indicated that they are proceeding with legal actions, intending to charge Rao under Section 13(1)(b), read in conjunction with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. This amended legislation provides stringent measures against public servants found guilty of corruption.

Ongoing Investigation

The investigative process is still underway as authorities continue to analyze the findings and pursue further leads. The case underscores a significant crackdown on corruption within the state’s public service sectors, highlighting the ACB’s commitment to rooting out malfeasance.

This development has shed light on the necessity for transparency and accountability in public service, reinforcing the state’s resolve to tackle corruption systematically and ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards.
