The blaze, which has garnered widespread attention locally, was reported at approximately 11:23 PM, causing a quick response from emergency services. Despite the intensity of the fire, the firefighting operation ensured there were no injuries or casualties, a significant relief for the community. As the firefighting teams continued their overnight efforts, four appliances alongside two high-reach units and a high-volume water pump were utilized to tackle the flames. Water was drawn directly from the River Clyde, providing the necessary resources to combat the fire’s stubborn progression.

Efforts through the night into Saturday have made progress in subduing the flames. The authorities remain vigilant, ensuring thorough checks are conducted to prevent any reignition or unseen fire risks. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, as specialists seek to determine any potential triggers in the scrapyard’s operations or storage practices that may have contributed to the blaze.

The event underscores the challenging work and commitment of firefighters, who continue to protect communities and property. Emergency services have commended the readiness and swift action of all involved in containing and managing the hazardous situation effectively.

As investigations continue, local officials are expected to provide further updates, ensuring the community stays informed and ensuring all safety protocols are reviewed and enforced.
