Tragic Aviation Accident in DR Congo Claims 14 Lives

A military airplane crash in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has resulted in the loss of 14 lives. The ill-fated flight, carrying both military personnel and civilians, was en route from Kikwit to Kinshasa on Friday when it encountered technical problems.

The plane attempted an emergency landing in Kenge, Kwango province, but tragically ended up crashing into a residential area due to the absence of a proper landing strip, according to Remy Saki Bokinda, Kwango’s deputy governor.

All Aboard Lost in Fiery Crash

Major-General Efomi Ekenge, a spokesperson for the Congolese military, confirmed that all 14 passengers onboard were killed. The pilot’s body was found outside the wreckage, while many others were tragically burned beyond recognition. Among the deceased were high-ranking officials and part of an official delegation, reflecting the gravity of the incident.

Investigations into Crash Causes Underway

Authorities have launched an extensive investigation to uncover the cause of the aviation disaster. Initial reports suggest a technical fault, but further details are pending the outcome of formal inquiries.
